On April 5, 2022, legendary K-pop boy group BIGBANG released what is possibly their last single together. To get hyped for the release, I re-watched my old BIGBANG faves from middle/high school days.

May 25, 2020 marks the 12th anniversary of popular K-pop boy group, SHINee. It also serves as a reminder of my decade-long citizenship in their fandom and the growth of my identity throughout these transformative years.

There is a reason why k-pop is so popular. The way k-pop marketers engage the fans in the pre-release promotional period is something that North American labels can definitely get inspiration from.
